GARRY VAN EGMOND, Managing Director

The Van Egmond Group, and its managing director, Garry Van Egmond are synonymous with successful, quality promotion and production in the Australasian market place.
Over the past 35 years, Garry has been a leader in touring, production of theatrical events, event merchandising, marketing and promotion. His reputation for attracting high yielding events to the Australasian market place is second to none with productions in Australia, New Zealand, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Taiwan & Japan.
Through Garry's long and highly regarded presence in the industry he has gathered an impressive list of contacts with performers, major managers and contractors throughout the entertainment, performing arts and sporting industries.
It is no accident that the four biggest concert tours of Australia have been promoted by Garry Van Egmond; they are "Dire Straits" 1986, "Jesus Christ Superstar" 1992, "Riverdance" 1997 & “AC/DC” in 2010. These along with the other promotions are a testament to his company's ability to meticulously plan and execute all aspects of successful promotion from marketing through to logistics.
In a career of "sold out" business, highlights include Dire Straits "Brothers In Arms" tour, which saw 250,000 seats, sold in Sydney alone and ticket sales of approximately 1 in 15 to the entire Australian population (this achievement is listed in the Guinness Book of Records), the tour of Bette Midler, which sold out 72 performances and in 2010 AC/DC’s Black Ice Tour which became the fastest selling concert in Australian history selling over 520,000 tickets in under three hours (the concert went on to sell over 750,000 tickets in Australia & New Zealand).
In 2010, Garry Van Egmond was ranked 5th worldwide in the Top 25 International Promoters category by Billboard Magazine.
During his career, Garry Van Egmond has sold in excess of 20 million tickets across contemporary concerts and theatre productions in the Australasian market place.
CHRISTO VAN EGMOND, Commercial Director
Christo has over fifteen years experience in the sports & entertainment industries.
Currently Christo oversees all commercial activities for the Van Egmond Group with its clients and partners that include venues, ticketing companies, marketing & sponsorship companies and other key stakeholders.
Christo is also responsible for the development side of the business identifying projects and working with its project partners to deliver results.
Prior to this Christo worked in the Sports Television & Marketing industry and was involved with the acquisition and sale of significant TV and new media rights such as the US Masters Golf, FIM MotoGP, World Superbike Series, FIM Motocross & Supermoto, along with representing a number of significant Australian sporting federation’s media, sponsorship and merchandising rights. Prior to this Christo worked with IMG (International Management Group) Australia.
Christo Van Egmond holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and is a Fellow of the Australian Marketing Institute and Certified Practicing Marketer (CPM).
RECENT AWARDS
In 1996, Garry was one of 5 nominees for Performance Magazine's Readers Poll Award for International Promoter of The Year.
In 2001 Garry was listed tenth in the top twenty-five promoters of the world in Pollstar.
In 2005, Garry Van Egmond in association with Michael Chugg won the award for Best International Contemporary Concert at the LPA's Helpmann Awards for the Bette Midler "Kiss My Brass" Australian spectacular which saw the Devine Miss M fill 10 arenas around the country.
In May 2009, Australian box office records were again smashed by the Van Egmond Group with over a half a million tickets for AC/DC's Black Ice tour sold in under 3 hours. AC/DC commence their Australian tour in February 2010 in what will surely be the most anticipated concert of the year.
